01
The recording imports at the wrong size
Moonshot picks the device frame from the recording's own dimensions. If nothing in the catalogue fits it stays frameless — set a canvas size and scale the device by hand.
02
Export looks softer than the recording
Canvases render at up to 1920×1080, so a recording captured larger is scaled down. Record at the size you intend to publish and avoid zooming past 1.5×.
03
The cursor drifts off target
Cursor paths are anchored to the frame, not the zoom. Re-anchor the point after changing a zoom and the path follows it.
04
Rendering is slow on my Mac
Export uses the media engine, so other video apps compete for it. Quit them and the render usually speeds up considerably.
05
A project will not open
Projects are forward-compatible but not backward — a file saved in a newer beta will not open in an older one. Update and try again.
06
I need a refund
Purchases go through the App Store, so refunds are Apple's to give — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell me what went wrong too, and I will try to fix it.
07
Fonts in captions look wrong
Captions use the fonts installed on your Mac at render time. Install the font locally, then reopen the project.
08
How do I delete everything?
Move the app to Trash and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Moonshot. There is nothing stored anywhere else.
